What’s your favorite part about your role at Threads?

The passion in our team is seen everyday through the ongoing dedication to solve business problems for our customers. We asked some of our colleagues to share their favourite parts of their role:

“The favourite part of my role at Threads is in guiding the cutting edge R&D which forms the basis of Threads. Not since I was a researcher at NPL have I experienced the thrill of working on something entirely novel. And amazingly, the work I did at NPL is only bearing fruit now that we have the computer power available we could only dream of then.”

John Yardley – CEO

“I’ve been part of Threads since day one and have loved watching the business grow over the past decade. From streamlining operations and supporting the team to standing our ground against corporate bullies and shaping our strategic direction, I thrive on tackling the challenges that come our way. But the most rewarding part is reading customer feedback and seeing how Threads genuinely helps solve everyday problems.”

Francesca Yardley COO & Business Manager

“Having the opportunity to build relationships with customers old and new and supporting them throughout their journey with Threads has to be the best part. Over the last 6 years that I’ve been with the Threads team I have always felt proud of the growth and development that we’ve seen together, particularly through my passion for customer service and getting to see the positive impact that we have on our users.”

What’s your top tip for efficient team communication?

When working remotely, a quick 15 minute Teams/Zoom call always beats several separate phone calls. Bring a few people together around a quick diary entry with a video call, and definitely turn on cameras for that enhanced feeling of being together. Nothing beats physical get-togethers, but this comes a close second, I never regret time spent like this. AI summaries of what was discussed can be really useful for remembering details weeks later too.
